This section is for nonprofits who are certified with the Our Promise campaign and those who are interested in becoming certified. You can also find information about payments, special events and more. 

Nonprofit Certification is now Open for the 2019 Campaign!

Nonprofit certification for the Fall 2019 Our Promise Initiative is available! From now until February 28th, we will give every qualified nonprofit in California the opportunity to register with the Our Promise: California State Employees Giving at Work campaign, the largest charitable campaign in the state. 

Please note: Charities must have a valid 501(c)(3) status with the IRS and charities must be in good standing with the Registry of Charitable Trusts to operate or to solicit for charitable purposes in California. A registration that is delinquent, suspended or revoked is not in good standing. (Gov. Code, § 12599.6, subd. (f)(1); Cal. Code Regs., tit 11, §999.9.4.)  

A charity that is not in compliance with the registration and reporting requirements listed above, will not be an eligible charity to participate in Our Promise: California State Employees Giving at Work Initiative.

This application is for nonprofits looking to apply to be a part of the Our Promise Campaign listed as “Independent”. If you are already applying as part of a PCFD or Federation, please disregard this application.

How do I become a certified nonprofit under the Our Promise campaign?

Nonprofits apply on an annual basis in January for the Our Promise campaign held each Fall. They can find more information here on how to get started, or can sign up to receive notification on when the application process will become available.
